Description
66865, McGuffey Ana was a popular character from the McGuffey Readers used in many schools from the 1830s to the mid 20th Century. One of Madame’s purposes for her dolls was to inspire a girl to read and explore. In 1937 she introduced McGuffey Ana into her collection and she has been making appearances ever since. The 90th Anniversary McGuffey Ana is a 12” Lissy doll with bright blue eyes and center parted brunette hair styled into braided loops with bangs. She is dressed in a dark pink and white gingham check above the knee dress featuring short puffed sleeves trimmed with white lace, and a full skirt. Over the dress she wears a pinafore style white organdy apron trimmed with white cotton lace and accented by teal soutache. Pink silk rosettes with yellow centers embellish the waistband of the apron, which ties into a large now in back.
Topping it all off is a beige straw hat with three pink rosettes in the front and a black elastic strap. Completing her ensemble are white lace trimmed panties and petticoat, white socks, and white Mary Jane’s with metallic buckles. McGuffey Ana is the perfect little lady from the 1930s ready for her first day of school! Limited Edition of 500. From Madame Alexander’s 90th Anniversary, Americana, and Limited Edition collections.
